Hello! My name is Erin Newcomb and I have been teaching at Lancaster since 2014. I am proud to be a part of the first grade team and am thrilled to be able to call Lancaster my home!
I am originally from Southern Indiana and graduated from Eastern High School in Pekin, Indiana in 2009. I then went to Purdue University where I studied Elementary Education and graduated in 2013. After college, I spent one year working as a Special Education paraprofessional at Avon Intermediate School West. From there, I joined the first grade team at Lancaster and have been here ever since!
My favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with my students that extend beyond my classroom walls. I love being able to see my students outside of school, especially when I can support them in doing things that they are passionate about. I enjoy watching students' soccer games, dance recitals, plays, baseball games, and anything else that they are involved in.
In my spare time, I enjoy helping out at Norwell sporting events and coaching 8th grade volleyball at Norwell Middle School. I also like to get back to Purdue to catch a football or basketball game; but my newest hobby is visiting my newborn nephew in Iowa any chance I get!
