Careers On Wheels at OES!

bucket truck OES hosted several community members along with their vehicles for 4th and 5th grade students to explore opportunities within different career clusters.  Students learned about educational requirements, expectations, opportunities, and real-life experiences in different careers involving vehicles.

Counseling Services

Heart Building
Welcome to the Ossian Elementary School Counseling Department.  We guide K-5 students in effective learning, career awareness, respecting self and others, and good citizenship.  Individual and small group counseling are open to all students to help overcome obstacles that impact learning.

Individual Counseling
At times, students may experience problems in school that interfere with learning. Individual counseling is available for short-term weekly sessions.  A student may be referred by a parent or teacher, or a student may request to see the counselor.  Counseling may be sought out if a student is experiencing a changing family situation --military deployment of a parent, separation, divorce, or death of a family member; a student may also struggle with behavior or peer relationships.

Small Group Counseling
Small groups counseling opportunities are offered periodically; topics vary and may include "Why Try?" "Understanding a Divorce," "Learning About Anger," and "Making and Keeping Friends." More information is available through the Counseling Department.

Classroom Guidance
Classroom Guidance lessons are provided for all students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Lesson topics include Bus Safety, Bullying, Conflict Resolution, Respect, and Career Exploration.
