Activities for Students

Student Council is open to students in grades 4 and 5.  The application, campaign, and voting process begins in September. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month throughout the school year.  Student Council sponsors are Katelyn Miller and Cherish Rochford. Student Council members promote Red Ribbon Week, the Annual OES Food Drive, Random Acts of Kindness Week, and other special events throughout the school year. 

-Student Council Meets the 1st Tuesday of each Month from 8:00-8:45am.

Jefferson Street Singers and Jefferson Street Ringers are music groups directed by Mrs. Jody Paschal. Singers, open to 4th and 5th graders, learn to sing by parts, as well as choreography in the style of a show choir.  Ringers, open only to 5th grade students, focus on following musical direction, reading music, and rhythm.

-Jefferson Street Singers meet Fridays from 3:30-4:15pm
-Jefferson Street Ringers meet Wednesdays from 3:30-4:15pm
Circle the State with Song, also led by Mrs. Jody Paschal, practices after school and culminates in a performance alongside elementary and middle school choirs from around the state to showcase music in Indiana.
STOMP is a percussion group, led by Mr. Ted Chemey, that practices weekly after school.  Members learn rhythm and teamwork, as well as how music can be fun.
-STOMP meets Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30pm
