Notifications: Unfortunately, we had glitches with parents receiving text
messages because of this morning's fog issues. Here is what we have learned.
Recently the FCC has given wireless phone carriers the ability
to block text messages with little oversight. Consequently, carriers have been
blocking long code texts (texts which originate from 10-digit phone numbers).
In response, eSchoolView (Instant Connect) has partnered with
BrightArrow so they can offer short code texting from the originating number 87569. A short code number
is much less likely to be blocked because eSchoolView has signed a contract
with the major carriers promising that the texts will not be SPAM and that all
recipients have opted in to receive texts.
As you began to
receive text messages from NWCS this year, you may have been asked already to
reply YES to Opt in. If you did, you are all set.
did not reply, have a correct contact phone number in PowerSchool, and you want
to continue to receive text messages, text the word Yes to the number 87569.
That will ensure you continue to receive messages from NWCS.
