2025-2026 Preschool Information:
NWCS will offer Pre-K classes at both elementary schools. Preschool will begin the first Monday after the first day of the school year and will end on the last Friday of the school year. For 2025-2026, our first day will be Monday, August 18 and our last day will be Friday, May 22.
Several Pre-K classes will be offered at both elementary schools for potty-trained children ages 3-5. Both Schools are providers of On My Way Pre-K providing FREE Pre-K to qualified students and families. Students must be enrolled in Pre-K at LES or OES, and your family must meet eligibility requirements. Visit OnMyWayPreK.org to apply or for more information. On My Way Pre-K staff will be available to answer questions and help assist with registration on the Registration Nights and On My Way enrollment day.
In addition to typical Pre-K, NWCS offers a Developmental Preschool Program (DPP) and is located at Ossian Elementary School. This program is designed for children aged 3-5 who live within the NWCS boundaries and have special needs. Children with special needs must be evaluated by our staff and then qualify under Article Seven guidelines (Indiana Special Education Law). Each classroom is staffed by a certified teacher and highly qualified teacher assistants. Occupational, Speech, and Physical Therapy may also be provided depending on the needs of the child. Children who are eligible for kindergarten cannot be considered for this placement.
FEES
A $50 registration fee is due within one week of being notified and offered a spot in the preschool program. This fee is non-refundable and paid by ALL students. This fee can be dropped off at the school office or paid online through Brightwheel. Please make checks payable to NWCS.
This fee is used for crayons, glue, paint and other materials needed for projects during the year.
TUITION
Monthly tuition is due from August through May. Snacks and lunch are included in tuition. If the Case Conference Team of a student determines the student is eligible for an IEP, tuition does not apply. The tuition is due by the first Monday of each month.
If payment is not received by the second Monday of the month, your child will be withdrawn from the preschool program.
