Senior Clayton Vachon has been selected to receive the Norwell High School Internship Spotlight award. Clayton did his first semester experience with Norwell Middle School nurse Nichol Johnson. He has elected to stay on with Mrs. Johnson for the remainder of the school year. Clayton is the son of Andy and Ami Vachon.
Assisting the middle school nurse has helped Clayton to learn a great deal about the medical care that is needed in a school setting. One of Clayton's most time consuming duties is to make sure there is enough ice for daily needs as well as athletic events. He has learned to assist with the medical needs of each student who comes to see the nurse. Clayton takes temperatures, cleans burns and cuts, helps apply bandages when needed, and gets ice for various injuries. Clayton is also available to the middle school office when there is paperwork to complete, errands to run, and student locker issues.
After graduation, Clayton plans to attend IUFW to study
health sciences. His ultimate medical career goal is to become an orthopedic
