Norwell High School to start an Athletic Hall of Fame

At the June 9th NWCS School Board meeting, approval was granted for Norwell High School to initiate an athletic hall of fame. With the strong athletic tradition that Norwell High School has enjoyed, we are excited to begin recognizing individuals and teams that are worthy of being inducted into the hall of fame. The first induction will take place at a Hall of Fame ceremony that will be held in conjunction with a home basketball game in January or February of 2021. The inaugural class will include 10 inductees chosen by the Hall of Fame Committee who will consider all nominations submitted. For an individual or team to be eligible for induction they must meet the following criteria.

§ Norwell High School student-athlete who made a significant contribution to high school, college, amateur, or professional athletics.

§ 10 years shall have passed since the student-athlete last competed in interscholastic sports.

§ A coach who has made significant contributions to the success of the Norwell High School athletic program and is not currently coaching at Norwell High School.

§ An individual who has made significant contributions to the success of the Norwell High School athletic program.

§ A Norwell High School team that had a significant accomplishment or record and is at least ten (10) years past the year of competition.

§ Nominated individuals must be free of public dishonor.

Hall of fame nominations are now being accepted by the Norwell High School Athletic Department and must be submitted prior to October 1, 2020 to be considered for induction in the inaugural class. Nomination forms(printable copies & electronic version), instructions and hall of fame by-laws can be found on the Norwell High School athletic website at  Nominations forms can also be picked up in the athletic office at Norwell High School.
