I.C.E. Student of the Week

Senior Ashley Miller has been selected to receive the weekly Norwell High School ICE Student Spotlight award. She is employed by Northern Wells Community Schools working in the Ossian Elementary Latchkey Program with mentors Krissy Riley and Ashley Daub. Ashley is the daughter of Rick and Jenny Nes.

Supervising children grades K-5 can be a very challenging feat for a latchkey employee. Ashley works in the a.m. hours from 6:30 to 9:00 and in the afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30. The top priority for the latchkey program is to provide a safe environment for the students before and after school. Part of Ashley's job is to check the students in and out of the facility with parent and/or guardian signatures. She also helps with breakfast and afternoon snacks and leads many activities in the classroom, gym, or playground.

Upon graduation, Ashley plans to attend PFW to study in the field of social work.
