Senior Ashlyne Shanks has been selected to receive the Norwell High School Internship Spotlight award. She has been doing her experience at the Adams Memorial Hospital her entire junior and senior years as a CNA [Certified Nursing Assistant]. Ashlyne's mentors are Leslie Bebout and Ashlyn Nechling. She is the daughter of Heather Shanks.
As a CNA, Ashlyne is entrusted to do vitals for all patients. General patient care is also a top priority which includes toileting, transporting, and getting fresh ice water for the patients. Ashlyne has also observed various surgeries including appendectomies, GERD, and knee replacements.
Upon graduation, Ashlyne plans to attend the University of Saint Francis to study nursing. Her ultimate career goal is to become a nurse practitioner.
