Senior Jillian Melcher has been selected to receive the Norwell High School Internship Spotlight award. She has been doing her experience at Parkview Huntington Hospital the entire school year in radiology with mentor Shawn Hunter. Jillian is the daughter of Tim and Marcey Melcher.
Jillian’s main activity is to observe how X-Rays are administered and how the X-Rays are used to prepare for medical procedures. Most X-Rays are taken of the chest and back areas of the patients. Chest X-Rays focus mainly on the lungs and rib locations. Back X-Rays are taken of vertebrae including discs and fractures.
Upon graduation, Jillian plans to attend the University of St. Francis to study radiologic technology.
