Senior Samantha Evans has been selected to receive the Norwell High School Internship Spotlight award. She has been doing her fall semester experience with Tiffany Stanley, who is the Occupational Therapist for Norwell Community Schools. Samantha is the daughter of Andy and Angie Evans.
Observing the Norwell OT has taken Samantha to all four schools in the Norwell school district. She has watched Mrs. Stanley work with students who have physical setbacks. The key areas of activity are writing skills, cutting, crawling, and grasping. Samantha has also been allowed some hands-on work as she prepares the sensory room for daily activity. This involves sensory diets and therapy which target individual motor skills for each child.
Upon graduation, Samantha plans to attend college to study exercise science. She ultimately plans to become an OT in a nursing home environment.
