Junior Ashlyne Shanks has been selected to receive the bi-weekly Norwell High School Internship Spotlight award. She has been doing her experience at the Adams County Memorial Hospital in conjunction with the Norwell Work Based Learning Program. Ashlyne's supervisors [mentors] at the hospital are Lori Minden and Leslie Peterson. She is the daughter of Heather Shanks and Daniel Fonte.
As a Certified Nursing Assistant [CNA] or also known as a patient care tech., Ashlyne performs general care as well as medical care for the patients. General care includes toileting and hygiene. Medical care duties consist of taking vitals, taking out IV's, and assisting nurses with catheters and code blues.
Upon graduation, Ashlyne plans to attend the University of St. Francis to study nursing.
